Small Aquaponics Kit with Portable wicking bags.

Continuous-flow Aquaponics  Kit with wicking bags for individual plants.  Plan with Actionable metrix where appropriate .  [Grow Bed ] = [Table] = [Fish Tank] [water] = [fish equipment] = [aquatic plants] = [filters] Grow Bed Size The best suggestion is that the biological surface area is large enough for the fish tank. But a less scientific suggestion is that the grow bed media is twice the volume of the fish tank.    So knowing that water in fish-tank is never the shop-advertised size (in Liters),  The grow bed includes both stones at te bottom for  biological filtration, and dirt bags for growing.  Shape strainers Holes are drilled at the top lip of all tanks (grow bed and fish tank) parallel to each other hole. Then string or fishing rod thread is tied to the top of the tank, to stop the tank from buckling or twisting out of shape. Drainage Apparatus The Bottom of the grow bed is filled with rocks and water, ...

Get to know the Koura. Biological information.

The freshwater crayfish genus “Paranephrops” is native to New Zealand only. They're similar to other small crayfish species found world-wide. Cute little crayfish with souls (self-aware minds) created by the eternal God of Israel. Page Contents: Locality Food Body size Water qualities Breeding Anti-predator behaviour Cultural considerations Shops & Economics Locality within New Zealand Koura are “not threatened” (being found in %20 of sites). Species_surveys taken in Lake Okoru produced 0 sample size, and lake Rewawhakaaitu caught koura for survey of 70 sample size. There are zero koura recorded in the Whakatane (Tamahine-a-Hine-Mataroa River) and the Waioeka-Gorge Rivers, But there are koura recorded in the Motu and Rangitaiki River systems. “It is envisaged that kōura in the inflowing tributary will provide a source of recruitment for the lakes when water quality conditions improve.” Better not interfere with their scientific research into water quality."...

How to Make small Aquaponics wicking bed kit. (Architect's Exploded plan)

1. Get your fish-tank. The recomended minimum size for a fishtank is 200 Liters as one block unit. Drill 2 holes on opposite sides and tie some nylon string as 'braces' to prevent the tank from buckling when it's full. the top 'oblong' shape will bend outwards when the tank is full, and this will cause cracks. So you need to keep the oblong shape of the tank, by tieing 1 or 2 "strainers" across the lesser width. Cost: $60 2. Build your table to sit above the fish tank Click Here for >>> Free Plans for stable table <<< The table should be stable so the legs wont cave in. The table should be light enough for you to carry into place during installation. if you can attach wheels to the whole thing, so you can move the kit. Great! 3. Get your wicking-bed tank The wicking bed should be at least 30cm deep, and a max of 40 to 50 cm deep. Having one wicking bed instead of two or more in sequential series, is better. ...

Wicking beds

Wicking bed Pipes arrangement When arranging an array of wicking beds, I like a single outflow. The outflow leads water away from the plant-bed.   A screw-double-sided connector affixes the tub wall. The outflow hole (OH) is simply the perpendicular join of a T-connector. Thus the height level of the OH must be below inner drainage-pipe’s top face ,   and the OH will designate the desired water-height inside the wicking bed. For 3 or morewicking -beds in sequence, having outflow holes     between each bed, rather than just one, may prevent the flooding of the furthest   bed .   Maths:   The height of the water-level inside the wicking bed ,   is measured from the tabletop to the level. the height of the outflow hole needs to be the same height above the tabletop .   Tub The Tub must fit the table comfortably, without being too skinny.   The tubs should be sturdy but b...

How to feed baby-fish whitebait.

Tank set-up Thank the God. The tank needs a small pump inside to create a water-current. The gills of fish use moving-water to breathe, so the water needs to be moving. It's not the same as having water rain upon the tank's surface. The tank needs an air-pump to provide oxygen in the water. Types of baby-fish There are two types of baby-fish, based on the salt. 1) sea-water baby-fish [note 1] and 2) fresh-water baby-fish [note 2] Transporting baby fish If you have caught some baby-fish, you will need to transport them (from the net to the fish-tank) in sea-water. Preferably sea water that has previously been in a clear tank with sunlight to bloom the phytoplankton (green vegetation single-celled algae). Sorting baby-fish from fresh water and sea water 0) keep your fish in sea-water 1) watch your fish every 10 minutes 2) if a fish is lying still at the bottom of the tank, move it to a river/rain water tank. Feeding sea-water baby-fish You feed sea-water b...
