Pagoda is not the proper term. Pagoda is an architectural form. Stupa is a building in a shape of pagoda in which Buddhist relics are enshrined. It is one of the three sacred monuments (Object of worship) (Sharirika Dhatu) that Buddhists worship when they are in a temple.
